FAQ

What is Stack Gun Heroes about?

You're a hero that invents weapons via the power of stacking, and then explodes virus-toting robots with said weapons. Since everything is procedural, you'll need to constantly stack new parts on your gun to respond to new threats. The difficulty levels go up infinitely. It's partly an experiment to see how far players can go using their creativity and love of stacking.

There is a deep base-building system that lets you process loot into useful items and upgrades for your gun. How involved you get is up to you, but there are tons of rewards for people who like learning the ins and outs of automation in Stack Gun Heroes.

You also get a randomly generated superpower that is entirely unique to you.

Is there multiplayer?

Yes, missions can be done either solo or online with several other players. Co-op is great, because you can min-max your gun to be extremely specialized (and therefore, crazy), and rely on your meat shields teammates to cover other roles. There are also some competitive scenarios that let you race or battle with friends.

What are the system requirements?

There is an up to date listing of system requirements on the Steam store page.

When will this be released?

Stay in touch via the Discord, Subreddit or Twitter and I'll announce when we determine a release date.

Will there be early access?

Right now, there is a lottery to get into the Beta for free. Check it out at the Discord. Spots are limited so the sooner you sign up the better! The game will launch on Steam as a complete game.

Who is making this?

I'm Chris Boston, and I have been working on Stack Gun Heroes since 2012. My dream is for SGH to be a "real" game, like with actual angry fans who threaten me when I nerf things and stuff. My hobbies include gaming, telling people I'm gonna get back into running, and starting heated debates about superpowers.

My press kit can be found here.

Can I publish videos of your games on the web?

You absolutely can publish (and monetize) videos of Stack Gun Heroes on the web. Please include a link to the Steam page next to the video to help the game.

How can I contact you?

Feast your eyes on our terribly exciting contact page.

Can I support the game with a generous gift?

I'm not accepting donations, but you can still support the game by posting about it on the internet. Right now, we can accomplish more by spreading the word than with money.
